Spiders often seem to walk a fine line between being utilitarian constructionists and artists. This particular fellow had no such scruples.

Taken with a FujiFilm S7000 at Mount Cooth-a, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Processed from RAW using UFRaw and the Gimp.

Airbus A380 - As far into the hangar as it gets

This is the new A380 when it made it's first visit to Australian soil - touching down at Brisbane airport for a quick Quantas paintjob before heading down south. Note the size of the massive semi-trailer parked on the apron of the hangar, then look at the plane! Maximum takeoff weight: 590,000 kg (1,300,700 lbs) - yup, a MILLION POUNDS! If you love your specs, you can check out some good A380 stats at Thai Technics

Toowong Cemetary, Brisbane Australia. Sad that some people get a thrill from defacing the resting places of others - with not even a piece of eight to show for it.
Placed 30th (oh well) in the FujiMugs "Movies" challenge.

The Scan

Our lives are so full of "little black boxes" that hide from us a level of complexity that few of us truly grasp. This is a HeNe (Helium-Neon) Laser refracted across some PC-104 hardware, with a touch of dry ice to highlight the beam. The speckled nature of the red areas is inherent to laser light.

Rainbow Jetty

From November 2004. A thunderstorm had just passed out to the east, the sun was setting beneath the remaining cloud. I figured there was a good chance for a rainbow over the Sandgate jetty, the drive was worth it.
