Our lives are so full of "little black boxes" that hide from us a level of complexity that few of us truly grasp. This is a HeNe (Helium-Neon) Laser refracted across some PC-104 hardware, with a touch of dry ice to highlight the beam. The speckled nature of the red areas is inherent to laser light.

Between Anzac Day services just after dawn, I went for a walk towards "The Narrows", below Lake Baroon / Baroon Pocket Dam.

From November 2004. A thunderstorm had just passed out to the east, the sun was setting beneath the remaining cloud. I figured there was a good chance for a rainbow over the Sandgate jetty, the drive was worth it.

This little gecko looks calm and cheeky, but his heart was racing! He had just had a memorable drive to the shops and back, riding on the roof of my car. Good thing his little feet are very, very grippy! :-)
