Euch! Dying Cockroach - processed and posted exclusively for the PhotoFriday "Gross" challenge.
To think I could have taken a photo of 12 bunches of a dozen roses, or someone's paycheck before the Goverment took their slice, or some political satire of Gross Incompetence... it ain't always pretty.

This is BJ, son of Bubba (in the background), feasting on Cola's dinner. This was taken a while ago now, BJ doesn't look quite so innocent anymore, but still gets away with the occasional feed. Cola (our cat) doesn't seem to mind too much, as long as they stay out of her way she seems ok with them sharing her food from time to time.

Spiders often seem to walk a fine line between being utilitarian constructionists and artists. This particular fellow had no such scruples.

Taken with a FujiFilm S7000 at Mount Cooth-a, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Processed from RAW using UFRaw and the Gimp.

Known around here as "Christmas Beetles" as they tend to come out around November/December, our summer. Their colourings are just amazing, providing you can get past the fact that they are, after all... bugs.

In a patch of scrub recently burnt out a colony of ants on a tree trunk encourage their mates to burst the pinata - who oddly, seemed unpeturbed. Taken with a homemade diopter attachment on a Fuji S7000. Placed 7th in the Fujimugs "Festivities" Open challenge.
