The first of my two audition pieces for entry to UNE's Bachelor of music. Still soooo much room for improvement but it got me through :-)

Lasciatemi morire is from Claudio Monteverdi's opera L'Arianna. It is Ariadne's lament at being abandoned by her love on the island of Naxos.

Huge thanks to Jason Barry-Smith who got me to this stage with a sum total of three singing lessons in my life!

SSH Login fails with "hash mismatch" on server, "missing begin marker" on client

This was an odd one. Recently I was setting up key-based ssh access for a server and the client was failing to connect with the generic "Permission denied (publickey,gssapi-keyex,gssapi-with-mic)." error.

I checked the server log (Centos, so /var/log/secure) and found an interesting "error: hash mismatch" message.

Using -v to get debugging info on the client end also gave me a message of "key_parse_private2: missing begin marker" - this was a red-herring and I suspect it happens often even when connections are working just fine.

Royal Croquet Club 15/11/2015 - Je suis, Paris

I caught the tail-end of the Royal Croquet Club event at Southbank, on November 15 2015. This was just two days after the Paris Terrorist Attacks, so several buildings were lit up in Red, White and Blue. Coincidentally, Les Miserables was still in season at QPAC as well. That and the deck chairs all sort of tied together in some sort of strange synchronistic tableau.
